Why is it so hard to love myself? Why is it so hard to not be able to see who I am through His eyes? That when He created me, He didn’t make a single mistake?

All I see are my imperfections.

They are not lies nor are they not real. They are there. Every single one of them. But who said I must be consumed by them, be fed by them, and be completely and indescribably controlled by them? It’s like there are two sides of me, battling, whether to look upon them fully and make myself utterly hopeless because of what I see or to look upon them and lie to myself saying they are all lies? I know that I should surrender. But I have my part in this too. It’s just these constant questions of what does it mean to let Him love me, to surrender, to see myself beautiful, and to be selfless.

Sometimes I wonder why He created me this way: this containment of indecisiveness, stubbornness, pride, selfishness, and brokenness. Utter discontentment in what she is and who she is. Hopeless stupidity in everything except a few things that may be useless in so many areas.

But can’t you see? He would tell me, as much as He knows I don’t want to hear this. This is why you’re perfect.

And this is why I love you because

This.

Is who you are.

And trust me. I have never failed before.

Sigh. What a love we have.
